Mount Kato
Just one mile south of Mankato, Mount Kato offers skiers a spectacular winter experience with 19 trails, eight chair lifts, a food chalet and bar, a rental shop, ski instruction, and snow tubing.
Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center
Located along the Mankato Riverfront, residents enjoy concerts from world-renown artists in our meeting and entertainment center. While at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center, enjoy cultural experiences and local history by strolling along the banks of scenic Riverfront Park. Be sure to take in a summer concert at the Vetter Stone Amphitheater, one of the country’s premier outdoor stages.
Fort Ridgely
Plan a visit to the old army fort built in 1853 as a police station to keep the peace as settlers poured into the former Dakota lands.
Harkin Store
Step back in time to savor the smells and sights of an 1870s general store forced to close when the railroad bypassed the small town of West Newton. Harkin was abandoned with much of the unsold inventory still on the shelves, where it remains to this day.
Linnaeus Arboretum
Visit the arboretum at Gustavus Adolphus College. Enjoy self-guided tours on foot, skis, snowshoes, or bike. Come back each season for a completely new experience.
