The safety and well-being of our students and staff, both physically and emotionally, remain a top priority at MVED. In 2023, the Minnesota Legislature updated school emergency drill requirements. As part of these state mandates, schools are required to hold five lockdown drills, five fire drills, and one tornado drill throughout the year. So far this school year, we have completed two fire drills and one lockdown drill. We will continue to work closely with Officer Hughes, St. Peter’s School Resource Officer, to ensure our drills and safety procedures are effective and supportive for everyone involved.
